Happy 2022! As 2021 comes to end, we are left to wonder what the new year will bring for Teton Valley real estate. December wrapped up the year with a decrease in residential sales and a big increase in average days on market. Listings are staying on the market for longer and longer - but are still selling at increasing prices as we see the median sale price continuing to increase as we head into the first month of 2022.
Is a DIY home improvement one of your resolutions for the new year? Try updating your kitchen this winter with ideas from my blog post on refreshing your kitchen space. Some fresh paint on your cabinets can spice up the room and catch the eyes of buyers when you are ready to sell (also can increase your homes value!). Try out two-tone cabinetry!
I am happy to call Teton Valley my home, and love helping others find their dream homes in our community. Whether you are ready to buy your own piece of the Tetons, or looking for expert advice on selling your current property, I'm here to help. Contact me today! |

Tenth annual Driggs Snowscapes will be biggest yet |
This year’s Driggs Snowscapes – The Art of Sculpting Snow event in the center of town will look a little different, with Covid, resource scarcity, and travel challenges forcing the event organizers to get creative with a new approach.
“The priority will be to continue the tradition of transforming the Driggs Plaza into a wonderful public art experience in snow!” said Downtown Driggs Association executive director Alison Brush. The DDA’s mission is to foster a vibrant and thriving downtown Driggs.
Instead of individual teams competing to create the best sculpture, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the free community art event, the plaza will be transformed into a snow village called “Showdown in Snow Town.” *courtesy of Teton Valley News |

Even more housing possible near high school |
With the approval on Dec. 21 of another high-density residential rezone in the vicinity of Teton High School, the Driggs City Council paved the way for more housing, this time with a developer-proposed condition that restricts short-term rentals.
The applicant, Aaron Powers of Epic Endeavors LLC, requested a rezone from single-family residential to residential multi-family (RM-2) on 12 acres on the north side of Ross Avenue, with the stated vision of building apartments and four-plexes, with a mix of owner-occupied and rental units.
The city council has approved RM-2 rezones for two other properties in the vicinity this year. Unlike those proposals, however, part of the Epic Endeavors parcel falls outside of the city’s recommended area for high-density housing, per its comprehensive plan, which gave the city more leverage in the rezone negotiation.

Teton County Search and Rescue December Update |
Teton County Idaho’s Search and Rescue team had a busy December. We started off the month with avalanche training, as well as a mapping refresher.
We ran through potential avalanche scenarios, and built strategies to respond to them. We also moved into a new building this month, which coincided with our winter equipment turnover. So as we got situated in our new space, we also swapped out our four wheelers and dirt bikes for snow machines, and our wheeled litters for rescue sleds. While moving into this new space presents a new set of challenges, its proximity to the sheriff’s office means we can interface even more smoothly with the other agencies we cooperate with. *courtesy of Teton Valley News |
